You're standing in front of the light


The problem
The window is behind him, so the camera exposes for the bright background and drops his face into shadow. This is the single most common fault in a bad dating photo, and the person who took it almost never notices — your eye adapts, the sensor doesn't.
The fix
Turn 180°. Put the window in front of you and let it light your face. Nothing else changed in this photo: same room, same shirt, same phone.
