What to check, in the order it matters. You can run most of this yourself in twenty minutes, which is roughly nineteen minutes more than a stranger on Reddit will give it.
Short answer
Review in this order: the first photo (solo, front-lit, eyes visible), the photo set (four to six, one full body, no group shot first), mechanical quality (sharp, correctly exposed, shot at eye level), then the text. Photos decide whether anyone reads the text at all, so fixing prompts before fixing photos is working backwards.
1. The opener
Look at it at actual size — about four centimetres wide, on a phone, at arm's length. Can a stranger tell which person is you, what you look like, and whether you seem approachable, inside one second? If any of those is a no, nothing else on the profile gets a chance.
2. The set as a whole
- Four to six photos. Fewer reads as thin or fake; more dilutes.
- At least one clear full-body shot. Its absence is read as concealment.
- Variety of setting and distance — not six versions of the same head angle.
- No group photo in first position, ever.
- Judge the set by its worst photo, because viewers do.
3. The mechanics
This is the layer people skip, and it's the one that's objectively checkable. Light in front rather than behind. Eyes visible. Face large enough in frame. Sharp focus. Camera at eye level. Recent. Run each photo through the audit tool — it takes about two seconds each and reports nine measurements.
4. Only then, the text
Specific beats clever. One concrete detail someone can reply to beats three lines of wordplay. But get here last: no bio rescues a first photo nobody could parse.
